Ameriabank named the Best Bank of the Year 2016 in Armenia by The  Banker

Ameriabank was named Bank of the Year 2016 in Armenia at the Bank of the Year Awards ceremony held on December 7 in London by The Banker, a premier  publication of Financial Times, Ameriabank press-office told ArmInfo.   During the 17th awarding ceremony, Ameriabank received a certificate  and a prestigious Bracken award (named after Brendan Bracken, the  founding editor of The Banker from 1945 to1958 and the chairman of  the modern-day Financial Times). Ameriabank received similar award  from the Banker in 2010, 2013 and 2015. 

The banks such as ING, Raiffeisen International, DBS and other  financial institutions are among the winners, development strategies  of which allowed them to reach efficient financial indicators in  complex competitive and economic conditions. Banks from 149 countries  of the world were nominated this year.  

According to the award organizers Ameriabank won this accolade in  recognition of its notable achievements, including smart and  innovative time-saving solutions for clients. Another important  factor was close partnership of Ameriabank with a number of major  financial institutions.

According to ArmInfo's Financial Rating of Armenian Banks, as of  October 1 2016, Ameriabank had a leadership position in the local  banking market by assets - 524.1 bln drams (up 18.5% y-o-y), by  credit exposures - 352.3 bln drams (up 21.4% y-o-y), business loans -  306.8 bln drams (up 22.4%). The bank is among leaders also in terms  of financing the industrial sector (including in energy field),  agriculture, construction, trade, public catering and services.  Efficient placement of loans enabled the bank to ensure 3.5 bln drams  of net profit for 9 months of 2016 (1st place in the market).
