Russian Foreign Ministry rep: There is no need to change OSCE MG format

Moscow sees no need in changing the format of the OSCE Minsk Group at the moment, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said a briefing on February 18 when commenting on the proposal of Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom to resolve the Karabakh conflict with an enlarged staff of OSCE MG.

"I think it is upon the participants in the given format to decide whether to change it or not. It is necessary to work actively within the current format to make a progress in the process. Yet as an expert, the Swedish representative has a right to express her views. The current format is approved, acknowledged and effective in many aspects. Of course, everyone would like to see more results, but the mediators are exerting efforts therein," Zakharova said.
