ArmInfo. Dmitry Masleev, winner of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition and world-renowned pianist, returns to Armenia with his first solo concert tour. The tour is being implemented in collaboration with the Primavera Foundation and the Armenian State Philharmonic.
The entire tour program will be dedicated to the masterpieces of the great composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. Master classes are also planned, and Armenian musicians will have the exclusive opportunity to perform a duet with the maestro, performing an Armenian work.
Masleev's upcoming concert program in Armenia will cover both the capital, Yerevan, and the country's regions. Admission to the concerts in Vardenis and Kapan will be free, emphasizing the project's important social and educational mission.
Specifically, Masleev will perform at Music School No. 1 in Vardenis on November 17th (free admission), at UWC Dilijan College (Dilijan) on November 19th, at the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall (Yerevan) on November 21st, and at the Organ Hall of the Kapan State College of Arts on November 23rd (free admission).
Dmitry Masleev offers young Armenian musicians the exclusive opportunity to perform a duet with him during his concerts, performing an encore of a work by an Armenian composer (original or arrangement). Masleev will select from musicians who have submitted their applications in advance. Participants must be citizens of the Republic of Armenia, students or graduates of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory (or its Gyumri branch), or participants in programs run by the Primavera Foundation.
On November 22, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Dmitry Masleev will conduct piano master classes at the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall. Applications for the master classes and the duet selection are available on the official website of the Primavera Foundation: primavera-foundation.am.
Notably, Masleev's ties to Armenia extend far beyond concert programs. As the head of the piano department of the Primavera Foundation of Armenia, the pianist is actively involved in educational and pedagogical activities in the country. He regularly conducts free master classes for young and talented Armenian performers, making an invaluable contribution to the development of the local piano school and supporting a new generation of musicians. Speaking about the upcoming tour and his work in Armenia, Dmitry Masleev noted: "Every visit to Armenia is a special event and an inspiration for me. Over the years of collaborating with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Maestro Eduard Topchjan, and the Primavera Foundation, this country has truly become my home. As part of my teaching work at the Foundation, I regularly interact with young Armenian pianists and am continually amazed by their profound musicality and sincere passion for art. That is why it is so important for me not only to give concerts in the capital, but also to travel to the regions, share my experience, and make classical music accessible to everyone." My first solo tour, dedicated to Rachmaninov, as well as master classes and joint performances with local talent, are my token of gratitude to Armenia and its incredible audiences.
As stated in a statement by the press service of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Dmitry Masleev is a musician who has won recognition from leading international stages and critics for his filigree technique, impeccable taste, and poetic depth of performance. For Armenian audiences, his name has long been a symbol of the highest performing art. The pianist has visited Armenia several times, performing as a soloist with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro Eduard Topchyan.
