ArmInfo. The Areni community of the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia will be paid compensation in the amount of 5 million 251 thousand drams.
The Prosecutor General's Office's demand for the protection of state interests has been satisfied.
According to the press service of the supervisory authority, on November 26, 2025, the Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court against the Areni community of the Vayots Dzor region and an individual, demanding that the auction held on April 14, 2011, be declared invalid and that the consequences of invalidity be applied. By its decision of October 20, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court upheld the Prosecutor General's Office's claim: The auction for the sale of a 5-hectare land plot held on April 14, 2011, was declared invalid.
However, due to the impossibility of returning the property in kind, the court ordered the individual to pay the Areni community in the Vayots Dzor region compensation in the amount of 5,251,000 drams.
