Armenia and Greece Discussed Cooperation in Education

Arminfo.  Armenia’s Ambassador to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan discussed cooperation in the field of education with Greece’s Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Professor Nikolaos Papaioannou.

As reported by the press service of the Embassy of Armenia in Greece, the cooperation includes an education and science cooperation program for 2025-2029, signed in the summer of 2025 by the heads of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Greece’s Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

The results of the work of the Armenian and Hellenic studies centers operating at universities in both countries were also discussed.

Greece’s Deputy Minister of Education said that, by a decision of the Greek government in March 2026, a Higher School of Performing Arts had been established, which will include components of cinema and theater, music and dance. The university is currently in the process of organizational formation and will admit its first students in September. A bilateral agreement was reached to establish cooperation with the relevant Armenian universities after the formation of the aforementioned educational institution is completed.
