A signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate cooperation in research, development, innovation, and shared production in the Defense Industry between the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry and the Ministry of Defense of India took place at the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia.
The document was signed on August 17 during a visit by Indian Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh to the Armenian ministry.
As Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry David Tadevosyan posted on his Facebook page, the Memorandum creates new opportunities for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the defense industry, providing for the implementation of joint research, development, and innovation programs, the development of startups and incubators in defense technology, and programs for the exchange of skills and experience of specialists in this field. The memorandum was signed by Aram Jivanyan, Acting Chairman of the Defense Industry Committee of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, and Rajesh Kumar Singh.
Tadevosyan also reported that he had discussed with Singh, who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit, the possibilities of expanding cooperation between Armenia and India in the defense industry and high-tech sector, emphasizing research, development, and innovation. "We emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional ties and developing partnerships with Armenian companies," he added.
