


ArmInfo.Aram Hovhannisyan has been appointed as the new Head of the Military Police of the Armenian Ministry of Defense by a decree issued by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan. The corresponding decree has been published on the official website of the head of state.
Hovhannisyan succeeds Ashot Zakaryan, who previously resigned from the post. Prior to this appointment, Hovhannisyan had not held any public office since June 2, 2025. On that date, by a decision of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, he was relieved of his duties as Head of the Police and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, and was also dismissed from police service.
