Armenia records positive net migration in H1 2026

ArmInfo. Armenia recorded a positive net migration balance of 5,200 people in the  first half of 2026, marking a 21.2% year-over-year decline, according  to data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

Overall cross-border movements showed a significant net positive  balance driven by international visitors and returning citizens:   Total Arrivals: 2.3 million individuals entered Armenia from abroad,  up 4.3% year- over-year;  Total Departures: 2.2 million individuals  left Armenia, up 2.3% year-over-year;   Net Border Crossing Balance:  reached +59,299 individuals, expanding more than three-fold compared  to H1 2025.

Moreover, in the first half of 2026, 871,400 RA citizens entered  Armenia (an annual decrease of 7.2%), while 870,100 departed (an  annual decrease of 9.3%). Thus, the positive balance of border  crossings by Armenian citizens during the reporting period amounted  to 1,346 people, compared to a negative balance last year for the  same period (-20,059 people).

During the reporting period, 34,100 people registered, with an annual  increase of 5.1%, and 28,700 people deregistered, with an annual  increase of 17.4%. For tourism purposes, in the first half of 2026,  Over 1 million tourists visited Armenia, a 14.8% increase from the  previous year. -0-
