CSTO member states still view Armenia as an ally, says  CSTO  Secretary-General

ArmInfo. CSTO member states continue to consider Armenia as an ally in the organization,  as stated by Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov  to RIA Novosti.

He noted that Armenia has been an active and harmonious member state  from the very beginning, making a valuable contribution to  strengthening collective potential, and CSTO member states continue  to view it as an ally. Masadykov emphasized that the CSTO has  repeatedly confirmed its readiness to discuss with Yerevan all  matters related to the resumption of Armenia's full participation in  the alliance's joint work.

Recall, Armenia has been boycotting CSTO events since the end of  2022. In February 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan  declared that Armenia had effectively frozen its participation in the  CSTO, as the organization had failed to fulfill its obligations to  Armenia, which could not go without consequences. And on September  18, 2024, at the Second World Armenian Summit, Pashinyan declared  that the CSTO posed threats to Armenia's security, its continued  existence, sovereignty, and statehood.
