As part of 35th anniversary of independence, RA diplomatic missions  plan to hold events

ArmInfo.  As part of the 35th anniversary of Armenia's independence, RA diplomatic missions abroad plan to hold a series of events, the total cost of which, according  to preliminary estimates, will be approximately $1 million.

At its meeting on August 6, the RA government decided to allocate  these funds to the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The justification for the draft decision notes that the events will  be organized at 51 RA diplomatic missions operating abroad. They will  include official receptions, concerts, exhibitions, book and photo  presentations, film screenings, conferences, and thematic  discussions. The events will showcase Armenia's history, cultural  heritage, contemporary achievements, peace agenda, and tourism and  investment opportunities. Armenian cuisine, winemaking, and domestic  products will also be showcased.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' estimates, the  necessary funds for the programs will be provided through the  redistribution of the ministry's internal funds.  Specifically, it is  proposed to transfer 260 million drams from the "Protection of the  Rights and Interests of RA Citizens" program to the "Implementation  of the Activities of the Diplomatic Service Bodies of the Republic of  Armenia Accredited to Foreign States and International Organizations"  program. These funds were intended to compensate for the cost of air  tickets for Armenian citizens returning to Armenia due to military  operations and the security situation in the Middle East. However,  according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, approximately 140  million drams were spent based on actual requests, leaving an unused  balance in the program. The remaining funds are also planned to be  allocated from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' budgetary  allocations.
