Prosecutor General`s Office demands confiscation of 22 real estate properties from  second president of Armenia

ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office is demanding the confiscation of 22 real estate properties from the second president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and persons associated with him, 19 of which have an average market value of AMD 11,154,790,000, as noted in a statement issued by the supervisory body.

The Prosecutor General's Office is also insisting on the confiscation of bonds purchased for $3,084,965 and AMD 985,190,729, as well as deposits totaling over $1,405,059 and AMD 200 million. The claim also includes shares in 13 legal entities, including Toyota Yerevan LLC, Nairi Insurance LLC, and others, as well as the acquisition costs of shares in four legal entities.  The claim also includes the right to receive loans in the amount of $4,025,914, AMD 8,302,016,732, RUB 260,452,574, and EUR 589,741, two vehicles, and property acquisition costs equivalent to AMD 3,822,451,103. The monetary amount claimed is AMD 19,561,949,303, plus AMD 502,359,121 as the illegal portion of the bail paid in the criminal case.

 It should be noted that the defendants include Robert and Bella Kocharyan, Sedrak Kocharyan and Zaruhi Badalyan, Levon and Siranush Kocharyan, Gayane Kocharyan, and Vigen Chatinyan. The confiscation of property and funds, which, according to the investigation, are not based on legitimate income and are of illegal origin, is underway. Robert Kocharyan's family denies all charges, claiming the property was acquired honestly and that the trial is politically motivated.
