Armenia advocates for building competitive, inclusive, and  climate-resilient agricultural system

ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisogomonyan emphasized Armenia's commitment  to building a competitive, inclusive, and climate-resilient  agricultural system that contributes to food security and improves  the well-being of rural communities. He expressed this position  during his speech at a seminar on strategic directions and action  planning in the agro-industrial sector for the next three years,  jointly organized by the Armenian Ministry of Economy and the UN  Office in Armenia. 

According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry's press service, in his  speech, Abisogomonyan also mentioned the Armenia-UN Sustainable  Development Cooperation Framework for 2026-2030, as well as the  strategic documents of the Armenian government, the Food and  Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the World Food  Programme for 2026-2030, aimed at developing participatory,  innovative, sustainable, and balanced agriculture in Armenia. In this  context, he emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation with  international partners and their active participation in the  development of the sectors mentioned in the documents.

The Armenian diplomat touched upon the 17th Conference of the Parties  to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be  held in Armenia from October 18 to 30, and the planned event on  biodiversity and agriculture, which will provide an opportunity to  present Armenia's experience and vision in the field of biodiversity  conservation and the development of sustainable agricultural systems.
