ArmInfo. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the "Strong Armenia" bloc's political council, presented the ideological foundation for which their political force is fighting.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Karapetyan announced that he had decided to speak about this before the Constitutional Court of Armenia's decision on the appeal of opposition forces challenging the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections.
He stated that "Strong Armenia" believes that the Armenian people are not ordinary. "We believe that among the 2,000 nations of the world, the Armenian people are a chosen people and have a historical mission. We see proof of this in our religious books: first, in the fact of the second rebirth of humanity at the foot of Ararat, and second, in the fact that the Armenian people were the first in the world, besides the Creator, to adopt monotheism as a state religion. Monotheism, not just Christianity. And this destiny, which we have inherited, carried its main message: to spread these ideas, to create a strong society that will enable the world to follow our example," Karapetyan believes.
Regarding the failures that have befallen the Armenian people, Karapetyan expressed his conviction that the cause of their defeats is a desire to escape their own destiny and choose an easier path. He added that, in addition to the Armenian people, the Jewish people are also chosen, having taken the path of self- organization and embracing their mission and today considered the owner of 15% of the world's economic capital and the representatives of one of the most powerful states.
"We, however, with the same mission, chosen for us by fate, have chosen a different path-to evade that destiny, that responsibility, which is placed upon the chosen people. But our mission is to show our people, even that part of them that today wants to live as representatives of an ordinary, just another nation, that we have a mission, that we are the chosen people, and, by taking on this mission, to bring glory and power to our country," Karapetyan concluded.
