


ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan has departed for the Republic of Korea on a working visit to participate in the Sustainable Ocean Initiative (SOI) Global Dialogue, a high-level international forum.
According to the ministry's press service, the visit will also include bilateral meetings with heads of state agencies and high-ranking representatives of international organizations. The negotiations will focus on preparations for COP17, biodiversity conservation, climate policy, and the expansion of cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
The SOI Global Dialogue is one of the key international platforms operating under the framework of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. It brings together senior government officials, representatives from international organizations, and relevant institutions to promote the conservation of marine and coastal biodiversity, the sustainable use of natural resources, and the strengthening of international cooperation.
Recall, Armenia is set to host the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity this autumn.
