Strong Armenia: While Armenian authorities talk about peace, Baku is  shaping anti-Armenian perceptions in international community

ArmInfo. While Armenian authorities talk about peace with Azerbaijan, official Baku is shaping anti-Armenian perceptions in the international community. Marianna Kahramanyan, press secretary of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, warned of this on her Facebook page.

As the political party's representative noted, on June 24, the  so-called Baku initiative group will hold a forum in the US Congress  in Washington, where the issue of the so-called "return of Western  Azerbaijanis" and "their right to self-determination" will be  presented. "This is yet another anti-Armenian event by Azerbaijan.  Please note that Armenia is accused of 'ethnic cleansing.'  Specifically, it is noted that Armenia carried out the so-called  'ethnic cleansing of Western Azerbaijanis' in the 20th century,"  Kahramanyan noted.

That is, as the bloc's spokesperson noted, this is not simply an  academic or legal discussion, but another informational and political  campaign by official Baku against Armenia. "The goal of the forum is  to accuse the country of so-called 'genocide' and also to shape  anti-Armenian perceptions in the international community.  Furthermore, at various diplomatic levels, it will present official  Baku's ambitions regarding Armenia's sovereign territories and call  into question the Republic's historical, cultural, and legal  foundations. This is further alarming news, which once again confirms  that the peace agenda presented by the country's authorities is, in  reality, an illusion. It will be interesting to see how the ruling  Civil Contract party, which consigns Armenia's history to oblivion,  will react to this," Kahramanyan noted. Narek Karapetyan, a board  member of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, also commented on Baku's  anti-Armenian policy, drawing attention to the discrepancy between  the statements of the Armenian authorities and the actions taken by  Azerbaijan. "The Armenian authorities are abandoning the past,  convincing the Armenian people that we are a problem, which is why  they attacked us. Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani government is inventing  a new past and preparing the entire world for its future demands on  our country," Karapetyan wrote.

As a reminder, on May 30, Samvel Karapetyan's political force also  signaled that Azerbaijan had submitted a concept for the settlement  of Azerbaijanis in Armenia to the UN and the EU before the next  parliamentary elections in Armenia. Furthermore, 11 days after the  elections in Armenia, Azerbaijanis held a large forum dedicated to  the so-called "return" in Ordubad, Nakhchivan, located 10 km from the  Meghri community in the Syunik region.
