Law enforcement officials are determining the causes and conditions of the erroneous activation of the depressurization sensor. This was reported in a press release by the Western Interregional Transport Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The department stated that, according to preliminary data, the plane, en route from Gyumri to Moscow, made an emergency landing in Makhachkala due to the erroneous activation of the depressurization sensor. It is also noted that no one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, a Pobeda spokesperson in Makhachkala told the media that there were 186 people on the plane and they were planned to be transferred to another aircraft and sent to their final destination.
As a reminder, the airline's plane, approximately an hour after taking off from Gyumri (12:35 PM local time), issued a distress signal over Dagestan and was diverted to land at Makhachkala Airport.
