Nikol Pashinyan inspected construction work of Square of Life

ArmInfo.  On June 20, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Yerevan Botanical Garden, where he inspected the construction work of the "Square of Life."

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief of Staff to the Prime  Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Armen  Pambukhchyan, and other senior officials, the government press  service reported.

During the tour, the Prime Minister was informed that the park is  being built on an area of approximately 50 hectares. An alley and  bike path have already been built, and reconstruction of the  cascading staircases is underway. The total area of the park is  approximately 30,000 square meters. Bicycle paths with a total length  of approximately 3.5 kilometers are being constructed along the  alleys.

Approximately 16,000 trees and shrubs are planned to be planted, as  well as an artificial pond. A new 20- kilometer irrigation system is  being installed, along with a pumping station, which will ensure the  maintenance of not only the "Square of Life" but also the vegetation  of the entire park. Outdoor lighting is also being modernized. A new  lighting network, including 350 electric poles, has been installed in  all the alleys.

As part of the ongoing work, approximately 900 meters of sidewalk  adjacent to Tsarav Aghbyur Street have been repaired. Parking for 280  cars is planned near the main entrance. A small parking lot for  people with disabilities is also planned. The former main entrance is  undergoing reconstruction. AMD 5.026 billion has been allocated from  the state budget for the construction of the square.

During the inspection, several issues related to the construction  work and the design were noted.

The Prime Minister instructed those responsible to pay special  attention to the quality of construction work and make any necessary  adjustments, including to the design, and present them for discussion  in the near future.

It should be noted that the "Square of Life" is dedicated to the  memory of the martyrs of all Artsakh wars. It is planned to include  recreational areas, alleys, bicycle paths, a stepped cascade, and a  culminating section symbolizing the lives of these heroes and martyrs  for the Motherland.
