RA Anti-Corruption Committee detains supporters of "Prosperous  Armenia" party on charges of vote- buying

ArmInfo.The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has announced the detention of representatives from the "Prosperous Armenia" Party on charges of "offering electoral bribes to a number of voters in the Tavush region."

According to the agency's press service, employees of the  Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia, in particular, established that  party representatives were distributing electoral bribes in exchange  for voting for their political party during the June parliamentary  elections and for recruiting other supporters. In connection with  this, the Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated a criminal case,  several individuals have been arrested, and procedural actions have  been carried out.

Recall, earlier,  the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reported  that a total of 43 criminal cases have been initiated in Armenia for  vote-buying cases. These cases involve the giving and receiving of  electoral bribes, acting as intermediaries in their transfer and  receipt during elections, as well as bribery aimed at securing  participation in  meetings and other events related to obstructing  citizens' exercise of their electoral rights. Sixty-seven people have  been detained in 14 of the 43 criminal cases opened, and criminal  prosecution has been initiated against 75 individuals.

The arrests in these cases involve exclusively representatives of  opposition political forces participating in the parliamentary  elections scheduled for June 7, 2026. The Anti-Corruption Committee  is effectively acting as the main "punitive baton," the scope of  which is increasing as the election day approaches. The Committee's  actions followed immediately after the National Security Service  conducted searches several days ago at the office of Prosperous  Armenia in Gyumri, at the home of Martun Grigoryan, an MP from the  opposition faction "With Honor" and a candidate for parliament from  the Prosperous Armenia party, and the day before arrested Andranik  Tevanyan, the leader of the Mother Armenia party.
