According to him, the upcoming June 7 elections are not ordinary  elections, with all their importance and anomalies. You can promise  the most pleasant things, but it won't work. All professional surveys  yield virtually identical answers, and almost all of them contain  significant gaps. The collective public consciousness is in the realm  of subconscious risk perception, guilt, and action.

"Let's talk about examples: against the backdrop of a deliberately  created toxic rift between pro-Russian and pro-Western forces, fears  are growing about leaving the EAEU or an economic confrontation with  Russia. The task of leaders is to patiently and competently explain  in what cases economic sanctions will be imposed, their  cause-and-effect relationship, what manifestations they will have,  what consequences they will have on the economy of the state and each  family. How can this be avoided? The simple answer to these simple  questions is an open dialogue with your people. This must be an  honest dialogue, we need to explain to farmers growing fruits and  vegetables, exporters of agricultural products, sellers, our hard-  working rural residents that due to the mistakes of those in Yerevan  offices, their source of income can be cut off in one day. People  everywhere do not understand this, do not imagine, do not believe.  Our rural residents have no idea that if we are not ready for the  opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, then Turkish agricultural  products will flow into the country like lava, half "Prices are  rising, and the consequences for our agriculture could be very  serious. Preparing all sectors of the country's economy for the  opening of borders is a serious matter of economic security, and  ensuring this is the responsibility of those in Yerevan offices, who,  however, either turn a blind eye to everything or are busy solving  other problems. We need to talk openly about these issues," the  political scientist emphasized.

He pointed to the authorities' main thesis: peace, which supposedly  only the authorities themselves are capable of bringing, and war,  which could break out if other forces come to power. "Before this  disgusting false thesis, the phrase 'Guaranteed Peace' suddenly  appeared. It has become a unifying phrase for the opposition, uttered  by everyone, regardless of their competitive sentiments. Now we need  to patiently and intensively explain the essence of 'guaranteed  peace'. Our old and new leadership have not communicated with their  people for a long time and do not have a clear idea of the real  problems and thoughts of the people. People think, discuss with each  other, listen to all the smart and stupid ideas appearing in the  media, they are concerned about the fate of the country and their  families. People have a universal need for communication. Do not try  to deceive or promise the benefits of peace. The right solution would  be to honestly and patiently explain to people that in the near  future Aliyev will put forward new demands:  constitutional changes,  the return of Azerbaijanis, the seizure of Sevan, its  "Goychayization", etc. The current relatively calm situation will not  last long. Aliyev will escalate the situation and put forward his  demands. 'Guaranteed peace' is about preventing this, in "Proper  management of today's "non-military" situation, so that there is no  escalation, no new demands are made, and the door to war is closed.   Therefore, it is necessary to speak calmly, respectfully, and  honestly with your people. The conversation will not be easy. There  will be stages of nervousness, despair, and resentment, but this is  the only correct path," concluded Vahe Hovhannisyan.
